Bio

VERONIKA is a singer-songwriter of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, she moved abroad at the age of 16. Since that time, she has taken on careers as a recording artist, model, and actress. Now preparing to take the U.S. by storm.

VERONIKA was a law student in high school, receiving multiple awards for her work in the field of jurisprudence and human rights. She began working at the age of 15, working as a promotional model, English to Ukrainian translator, and tourist guide. She attended college at the University of Kiev where she had an internship working with HIV infected people, orphans and disabled children. At the age of 16, she was scouted as a model and signed a contract with a modeling agency to work in Italy and the United States. After she left Ukraine, she transformed her life completely, except of modeling she also went to Hollywood to study film and acting.

During her lifetime, she dealt with a lot of intolerance and prejudice on the basis of her nationality. Being blonde and from Russia, she was often stigmatized because she was associated with the former Soviet Republics. As a representative of a new generation, VERONIKA speaks about her experiences through her music. In as little as a year, she wrote more than 30 songs as well as studied classical ballet dance and pole dance acrobatics.

She began her music career in 2012 with the release of her single Ain't Russian Doll, subsequently releasing the video in 2013. The video temporary reached No. 1 on YouTube charts as the most viewed video after reaching more than 2 million views in only a month's time. The video worked its way to MTV and MuchMusic where it became an instant hit. She went back to Ukraine to record her demo album. While there, she caught the attention of film director Yevgeniy Timokhin with her songs Ain't Russian Doll and CIA. From that time on, Timokhin shot all of her music videos, including the latest music video CameRA.

Many of VERONIKA's songs are dedicated to woman's rights such as Ain't Russian Doll, Soldier of Universe, Tank, I Was In A Box, and Ace. In her opinion, countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Belorus, Moldova and other ex-USSR countries do not recognize such rights for women. Women's rights are often ignored and suppressed due to these countries' traditional and inherent historical exercise of rights of men over women. She expresses this opinion visually in her music videos which are though provoking and reflect her inner world while showing her life philosophy.

VERONIKA is an admirer of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Eminem, and M.I.A. Some little known facts about her is that she is a dedicated Kabbalah student of the International Tzfat Kabbalah World Center in Israel as well as the holder of a Master's Degree in ping- pong; she also studied Italian, French, German, and Hebrew languages as well as participated in track and field events such as sprinting, hurdles, and the triple jump.
